Last year my mom fell in love with my glider rocking chair. For Christmas my brothers, Dad and I purchased one for her. I gave my husband an ipod for his birthday, he'd wanted one for a long time. I think I had him fooled that we couldn't afford to get him one. He was pretty surprised!
Hmmm...I realized I might be a pretty lame gift-give. But the best one ever was for my husband's 30th. I had a bunch of his family and friends answer questions about him and then I read them to him. He laughed and cried, it rocked.
I had the idea of having all the cousins type up their favorite memories of each of my grandparents. Then I put them together in a book and gave it to them for Christmas. I think it meant a lot to them to read how they have touched our lives!
All such good ideas. I helped throw a surprise 50th B-Day party for my mom. I made a montage video of her life and a book of thoughts from friends and family about her. It was way fun and we actually pulled off the surprise.
Boy the gifts I give haven't been even close to as wonderful as the gifts you guys come up with. The best gift I have ever given was a framed picture of the saviors had doing I love you in sign language. I gave it to my parents because the I love you sign has been special to us sense my parents were dating.
I gave my husband a baby girl for his 28th birthday!
ReplyDeleteFor Mother's Day one year I typed up all of my siblings Patriarchal Blessings and put them in a little book for her. She loves it!
