What fad did you pick up as a kid?

  1. I played pogs for a long time. I remember going to a special store to buy them really cheap. Then I decided it was boring and started the fad of playing marbles at my elementary school. It was very exciting.

  4. I don't know if being moody and rude to my family counts as a fad... shameful.

  5. Oooo...I definitely did the slap bracelets too until my school banned them.

When I was in 6th grade, it seemed every girl had at least one of many short-sleeved, ribbed t-shirts from Limited Too, that just said Limited Blue Jeans in small print at the top. I fell for it. I think I had one in three different colors.

  6. slap bracelets and french rolled jeans. why, oh why was I such a fool? When wide leg jeans came out, I was like, "why have I been torturing myself with this stupid french rolled things?"

also, when I was in Junior High, big cheesy rings were in...I had a few.

  7. Oh, ladies, I feel old! I don't even know what pogs are! And I vaguely remember my little brother playing with slap bracelets. It's amazing how just a few years makes such a difference when you're little! When I was a kid, I collected Garbage Pail Kid cards and loved wearing anything "jelly" (bracelets, shoes) and neckties. Ah, the '80s!

  8. Laura, I feel the same! Pogs? What the heck are those! I was into jellly anything, and had my share of bracelets and shoes.

I was into acid-washed denim, too. And permed hair.

  9. I am having the hardest time thinking of something for this... I definitely had several pairs of leg warmers in the 80s... I also had a few different pairs of jelly shoes. That's all I can think of! And I was finished with both of those by the time I was 5

  11. In addition to the others mentioned, I remember the fad of wearing my sweatshirts inside out. Was that a common thing, or just at my school??? lol.

  13. Stephanie- I do remember doing that for a short period of time! Maybe I was slightly more "fashionable" than I remember being... :) Or just a little bit dorkier than I care to remember!
