where are my fellow LOST junkies??

So, my husband hasn't been keeping up on LOST and so I have no one to talk about it!!! So there aren't spoilers for any fans who aren't up to date, I'll post some comment questions that maybe you can help me with!

What are you doing tomorrow night????

I'm watching LOST!!!!!! I'm so stinkin' excited, and I'm hoping that they don't disappoint!
I'm excited for some resolution.
I'm excited to solve some of the mysteries.
I'm excited for more suspense and excitement.
I'm excited to be sitting on the edge of my seat for two hours!

Book Club

Would anyone be interested in starting a Sugar and Spice book club? Maybe we could pick a book to read each month, then at the end of the month start discussing it... if you finish reading and want to discuss, great, if not that's great too. My thought is that it be a no pressure sort of thing. I just miss reading books and talking about them with people. Let me know if anyone would like to participate.

Videos for Toddlers

Any suggestions for videos that are somewhat educational or stimulating for ages 1+? I don't really make a habit out of sticking my little one in front of the television. However, I like to have some videos on hand for those occasions when I am trying to make dinner or something, and she doesn't want to be anywhere but hanging on my legs! We have several Baby Einstein videos that we have loved, but I think we're (all) over them! We don't have cable television, so Nickelodeon and those options are out too. I would love to hear any suggestions of videos, sing alongs, whatever, that you and your kids have loved!

Book request

I know we've given tips before, but I would love some new ideas for books for my one year old. However, I'm going to be kind of picky. I've learned that people love different things in Children's books, so I'll give you an idea of the kind of books I like to get. Linz raved about the book "Over in the Garden," by Jennifer Ward, and it's now one of my faves! I know they say simple books with not a lot of words are good for toddlers, but let's face it...they're not very fun to read! The words of this book flow in a very pleasant rhyming pattern, and I love reading it to her! It also has great pictures. So call me selfish, but I like books that are fun for ME to read! As far as books that are touch and feel, or have flaps, etc. Katie B. just got us the coolest book ever for Skyler's birthday. It's called "Tails," by Matthew Van Fleet, and every page has several different textures of animal tails to feel, as well as flaps to pull out, flaps to make the tails wag, etc. And, there's A LOT of pages! Sometimes toddler board books have like four pages, which I personally think is pretty lame. So anyway, there you have it. Those are two books that I feel strongly enough about to rave about. Fall Premiere Week is coming!

I'm going to admit it. I watch too much TV and I enjoy my share of shows. I'm a longtime LOST addict-I'm bummed they won't be back for a while but hoping that means I can catch up with their competition and another favorite, Medium. And for me, of course, Grey's Anatomy . Some of the new ABC shows look good too. I like Christina Applegate (is that her name?) so I think Samantha Who? looks fun and I'm fascinated by the Pushing Daisies. I'm also intrigued by a few of the NBC shows like Bionic Woman and Chuck.

Any other TV junkies out there? What are you looking forward to?

Dancing with the Stars

I have watched this show off and on but usually really enjoy it when I do watch. The cast was revealed today.

Come On BENJI!

I don't know if any of you watch So You Think You Can Dance. I got hooked on it last year and was totally jazzed that Benji Schwimmer (a returned missionary) won. I've been watching it this year and caught a return performance of Benji's on Thursday nights results show. I'm a really big Benji fan; I've listened to interviews he's given, watched online dance clips, and I check his MySpace once in a while. He seems to be a really funny guy with a good attitude and a strong testimony. Anyway, at the end of his performance Thursday night (which in and of itself was FAB) he dropped his pants to reveal American Flag undies. I was disappointed and put off. Did anyone else see this? Does anyone else think this was not a good choice on Benji's part as a representative of the church? I've seen him do other funny little things in some of his other dance clips, like rip his shirt off and stuff, but the dropping the pants on national television seemed to cross the line for me. I'm not too concerned when dancers wear skimpy clothing; I know that is part of dancing. But when they are unnecessarily revealing, like some of the tops I've seen Benji's sister Lacey where on this season of the show, I think, "Come on Mormons! Let's make some better choices here." Am I blowing this out of proportion? Let me end with stating that no matter what I will always adore cute little Benji and I'm fast becoming a fan of his talented sister this season. So, your thoughts?

I'm Lost without Lost

Okay, I know there are at least a couple of you out there who are LOST fans, and I just have to say, that was a CrAzY season finale! The Others were practically all taken down in like one episode. I wonder what plot they are going to take on next?? And are they starting to do flash-forwards instead of flashbacks? How wild is that? This show is just amazing. Anyway, let me know what your comments are about this. Let's have a little discussion.
