Hypnobirthing

Has anyone heard of this? Have you tried hypnobirthing techniques yourself or do you know of anyone who has. I am interested in trying this for my next delivery -- in about 4 months -- and I'd love to hear anyone's experience. I have read through my copy of a hypnobirthing book, I think some of the views are a little hoaky, even hippy-ish, but I do like the idea of self relaxation to prepare for and use during delivery.

I did it!! It is fantastic. I took the classes with both of my pregnancies, but my second pregnancy ended in an emergency c-section due to a placental abruption so I only used the techniques to relax as they administered my spinal block. But, with my first I used the techniques and it was a fabulous birthing experience. I can honestly say it was painfree. It was intense, my whole mind and body were working towards one goal, but it was not painful. My birth was quick and easy and recovery was great. I loved giving birth so this last birth has been quite traumatic for me as it was so different and so not what I had envisioned. Let me know if you have any specific questions. I think it is a great technique to use.

I used Hypnobabies with my 3rd baby. I had a great birth! I also moderate the Hypnoabies Yahoo Group and have gathered over 250 birth stories from moms using hypnosis for birth at www.pregnancybirthandbabies.com
Enjoy!

I highly recommend it! I had 2 wonderful HypnoBirths & am a HypnoBirthing instructor. I have a blog that posts a lot of HypnoBirthing stories from my clients at www.AWellLivedLife.Net. You can read some stories & then I think you'll see that it's not as hoaky as you might think. It's actually de-hypnotizing people about the idea of birth needing to be a painful, awful experience. Hope that helps!
