To help her curls bounce

My little one FINALLY has enough hair that we can now tell she has a bit of curl in it. Any suggestions for good products to help the curl keep its bounce and shape?

Face Wash Anyone?

I'm in need of some help. I've never really had a face wash that I love and I'm wondering if anyone has one that they would recommend? I've tried several different brands but nothing has really impressed me yet. What do you guys use?

Desert Skin

I have lived in humid Minnesota for six years. I just moved back west and have apparently forgotten how dry it is! I feel like I'm putting on lotion all day but nothing helps! What tricks have you learned to keeping your skin from flaking off all the time??? What lotions/soaps work to keep your skin moist??

ELF Product Review

We received a great tip on a great deal on makeup a few weeks ago and I want to know what everyone thinks of their new makeup! I got mine last week so some of you must have yours by now.

A few things I learned in the mean time. I did a search for ELF and Nordstrom and the only thing that came up was a rumor control report that said that ELF had been shown on Oprah but was not connected to Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's and never had been. hmmmm... not sure if my source was correct either, but it was interesting.

When I got mine, the first thing I noticed was one of the things I ordered was not there. There was a sheet that said they were out and I'd be credited for it. Not back-ordered, just no more of them. Then, I went on the website and it said it was still in stock. hmmmm..... The next thing I noticed was everything looked smaller than it had online. But that was no biggie-the stuff was only $.50 for crying out loud!!!!

I am not a big makeup person. Makeup for me is a Sunday or date affair. I'm not a makeup expert. I stick to mascara, eye shadow (sometimes) and lip gloss. This time I ventured out for some coverup though-once, again, $.50!!! Yeah, things looked smaller and the lip gloss doesn't taste good (my very expert quality test!) So, since I don't know much about makeup and since it was such a good deal, I wasn't expecting much either. So I was not disappointed!

Things I liked: good colors on the lip glosses and eye shadow, the mascara worked fine (my current mascara was four years old, people!) and it was only a dollar!!!! Even the cheap stuff at the supermarket is 3 or 4 dollars and this was only a dollar!!!!

What did you think? How many stars?

E.L.F. makeup sale

Hi all,

Natalie let me in on this and I thought others might be interested:

In case you haven't heard, there is a make-up line (featured on Oprah) called E.L.F. - stands for eyeslipsface ( www.eyeslipsface.com). Anyway, it is a higher end line that Nordstrom's has recently purchased...so, they are clearancing out all of their on-line inventory. Everything is only $1.00. Then, on orders up to $20.00 - you can enter promo code Carolina and it will take 50% off your order - making everything only 50 cents. It truly is a steal! I hope ya'll have a lovely day. If you don't want the make up they have great brushes for sale too for only a dollar!!!!!

Nursing Support, Part II

So awhile ago I posted a plea for help in my search for some decent nursing support... well I have found it. No longer will I be big blob of boob!!!

Motherwear has a pretty good selection of supportive nursing bras. I should have my hubby write a testimony about them. When I modeled the bra I ordered (with a shirt over it, of course, for maximum realistic effect, and nursing bras really aren't that sexy) he couldn't believe how perky I looked. I feel like I look like I've had a boob job or lost 10 pounds or I don't know what.

Just a tip for anyone else out there that has big bosoms and is nursing. I would order close to your pre-pregnancy size - the cups are pretty generous. I will warn you, they are a little expensive - I only bought one and it was nearly $50. Almost the best $50 I have ever spent.

Is this woman a redneck or a new mom?

Hmmm... I think I am guilty of being both. Wal-Mart is actually my Dollar Palace... I can't say I get dressed up to go there! I think it is about time I stop wearing any maternity clothes that still fit, shower before I run errands, and put on some make-up at least once a week (church doesn't count!).

Disappearing blush!

Can anyone recommend a blush with staying-power? Most of my makeup is Mary Kay, but I've had terrible luck with their blush and eyeshadow disappearing within about an hour, despite using moisturizer, foundation, and powder beforehand. Estee Lauder blush works better for me, but I still have to reapply a couple times a day. Is this normal and I'm just too lazy and cheap to want to reapply, or is there a better blush that I'm just missing out on?

Frizzy Hair

I am originally from Utah, where humidity is rare. Now that I live in the heat and humidity of San Antonio, I am experiencing for the first time some frizziness, but don't know how to combat it. Do any of you have suggestions? Favorite products? Anything other than the ponytail solution I am currently using?

Mom hair

So I just saw a pic of Staci celebrating her son's first birthday... and she looks fabulous!!! A reader had left a comment about her bangs. It got me thinking about hair and how I need a new do. My son is 6 weeks old and I am ready to start thinking about myself again - losing the prego weight, wearing something besides velour pants (aka upscale sweats), and actually doing my hair and a little make up. One predicament - my hair. Time for some hip 'mom' hair. One of these days I will make it to my hair stylist who will help me work it out, but until then, any comments or ideas about mom hair?

To Color or Not

I need your opinions/experiences. I haven't colored my hair since I got pregnant with Baby "I". I LOVE lightening my hair, but I despise the upkeep and the "roots" look. I'm feeling the need for something new with the change of seasons, but I'm nervous I'll regret it if I color it.
Do you color your hair? How often? Are you good at keeping up with the regrowth?

another moisturizing question

Sorry about my obsession with hyrdated skin! The other day NTG and I decided hand lotion by Vaseline Intensive Care is just not going to cut it anymore. My hands get dry and my knuckles crack really easily. We stared at the selection in the Target aisle the other day for about 10 minutes and decided that each of us would choose one new one try out. We bought Aveeno and St. Ive's. They seem to be pretty good so far, especially Aveeno. What is your favorite?

Facial Moisturizer

What facial moisturizer do you use? I have not tried very many but I do like moisturizers that have SPF.

e.l.f

Ok, so I was reading back on a post about make-up and what kind of make-up everyone likes. I have never been a huge make-up fan. The only "quality" thing I buy is powder. My favorite is mac. Best ever! I used to use Clinique powder but I am a mac girl now. Anyhoo, my cousin told me about this website that has super cheap make-up. The brand is e.l.f. Has anyone heard of it, or used it? My mom and I just made a huge order of stuff. I'm axious to see how it is. I'm not really picky with anything other than powder so I'm sure it will work for me. But it's seriously cheaper than stuff at the grocery store. So we figured it was worth a try. Let me know if anyone has used it.

Cosmetics Query

I just wanted to take a short poll and see what your favorite brand of make up is. Anything from Mac, Mary Kay, and Clinique to Mary Kate & Ashley brand. (I personally love the Olsen twins lip gloss.) Feel free to comment.
