Pooping in the potty

I know that pooping is the harder part of potty training for most kids.  However, not for mine.  She's done great with pooping in her potty up until recently.

Here's where it gets gross!

Her poop has totally changed consistency!  She has always been a soft pooper but solid enough to make potty training go fine.  But it's turned to absolute mush!  Let me tell you, diarrhea does not help potty training!!!!

Only a few things have changed in her diet but nothing big to make me think it would turn poop to diarrhea every single day!  She's eating a lot more peanut butter honey sandwiches and less milk lately.  She's also been wanting chocolate milk rather than plain milk.  I've eliminated a lot of fruit hoping that will help but it doesn't make sense to me that PBH sandwiches would do this.

Any suggestions?  sorry for the details!

Isn't the BRAT diet suppose to help solidify things?? Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast. I know for certain that bananas do a lot to solidify poop. And in my very limited experience with potty training, its a lot easier to have your child poop on the potty if its solid... Good luck!

Also definitely less milk affects it. When Tyler was little he drank too much milk so he would get constipated, so we had to back off. He did much better when we got him down to a normal amount of milk.

Good luck!! Potty training is fun, isn't it? I was always a big proponent of "potty training in a day," you can get the book at your library.

Is she getting much fiber? I've never heard of BRAT before but it sounds like a good idea to me.

iv'e been working toward BRAT and the bananas and toast work but she doesn't like applesauce and she's been eating a lot of apples lately so i was cutting back on those.

would there be a difference between apples and applesauce i wonder???

thanks for the tips guys! i'll work on the milk and BRAT more!

and julianne, i would pay real money if my kid could just go to a potty camp and come back magically potty trained! i've discovered this is why i have angel babies, because i'm terrible at patience during potty training!!!

If she is teething it could cause the drippies. My babe always gets real loose when she is breaking in new teethe. Dairy helps solidify: yogurt, cheese, milk...

good luck.
