I am all about Breastfeeding, but I am not so sure about this doll. I don't think I would be comfortable with my young daughter sporting the nibble halter top. Not to mention, then having her doll suck on it. Unless I misunderstood the article, but I don't think so!!!!!
I think its pretty bizarre. I understand the reasoning behind it, but I think the halter top/nipple thing is just too much. My daughter pretends to nurse her babies all the time while I nurse my baby, which I think is fine, but her dolls aren't actually sucking on a fake nipple. I just think that's too weird.
CREEPY!!! I LOVE breastfeeding. Definitely one of the major things I miss about having a young baby. I breastfed Cecelia until just before she turned 2 and I was pretty sad when we stopped. That being said- I still think the doll thing is creepy. Like Tiffany said, most children, boys and girls alike, will pretend to breastfeed if they see mommy doing it. I don't need my daughter wearing a halter top with fake nipples and having a doll hang off of them. I think she'll gain an appreciation for breastfeeding without that kind of toy around.
Hmmm, I hadn't even heard of it until I read your comments, but I'm going to have to agree with everyone else. I think kids will naturally pretend to breastfeed their baby dolls. They don't need to wear fake nipples. Their babies aren't real, everything else is pretend. They can "pretend" to nurse them as well!
