Staying at Home

Well I used to be busy all the time. Even as a stay at home Mom. Between the kids, shopping, taking care of my husbands grandma, and school I was overwhelmed. Well right now I don't have school, money to shop, or my husbands grandma to take care of anymore. So I am finding myself with not a whole lot to do. I would like to read but it is hard to sometimes with kids. What are your days like? What do you do that doesn't cost money or keeps you away from stores? (I like to spend and stores can be dangerous!) I just want some ideas to fill my time and keep me away from sitting at the computer all day or in front of the TV.

I have two kids. I rarely have time for the computer when I'm at home. I usually just watch TV that I like after the kids go to bed. Not that I think it's wrong to watch shows that you like when your kids awake (I think it's healthy for kids to see that Mom gets to have a break), I just don't find the time for it. It must be the nature of my kids, but I seriously have no time for reading or any other hobby throughout the day. They don't like to sit and watch TV for very long but it's long enough for me to get some things done and check my e-mail. We kind of thrive on going somewhere each day and it rarely involves money. This week we've gone out every day but only spent money when we went grocery shopping. We have a weekly Tuesday playdate with the ward, we take walks (while toddler bike rides), library, swimming at public lakes, playgrounds sometimes with a picnic. We do have a children's museum season pass that did cost money and we go probably once a month. I just don't have the creativity and energy to entertain them in my home all day and they are not great at independent toy play. So with those things in mind, we just get out of the house, and it need not cost a thing. They love being around other kids. Good luck!!

I'm pretty much just like Linz, except for the fact that my girls probably would watch TV all day if I let them, I just don't want them too. So my day goes like this:
6:30-8:00: Girls wake up, breakfast, dressed/shower if we missed bath the night before
8:00: My two year old watches TV while I put the baby down for a nap, workout and get dressed
9:00: My 2 year old and i do a craft/play a game/make a treat while the baby keeps sleeping
10:00: We go out somewhere--park, playgroup, library, museum, feed the ducks, walk, treasure hunt, friend's house, etc.

From there we come home, eat lunch, nap, I get to check my emails/blogs, clean, make dinner and then read or sleep if there's still time left, and then they wake up and we play games or play with toys until Dad gets home. Some kids play really well by themselves, but my kids tend to need me to supervise or play with them, so I don't get much me time until they go to bed.

I have tried to make my "post kids bedtime" more enriching just as a personal goal, so I'm looking into taking free online classes and stuff.

I'm the same as Linz and Tiffany. It feels like my days go way too fast, but we almost always go somewhere in the mornings; bike rides, walks, playgrounds, story time at the library, playdates (which I'm a big fan of because they're just as much for me!), grocery shopping, etc. Then it's home for lunch, nap, and then it's time for dinner already.

I guess I just need to find more people who want to d playdates, etc. I have a hard time sometimes going places with my two year old almost 3 because he is wild!! So having him and a baby can be difficult. I need to try storytime at the library though. I want to excersise but I really need a jogging stroller. Which isn't going to happen. So I need to make another plan for that. Any suggestions?
