Well I think that Black Friday constitutes a Thanksgiving tradition. On Thanksgiving usually what happens is the boys go to the turkey bowl at church and bring home a paper. Then we all look through the ads. Then we eat our feast and look through the ads again and decide our plan of attack while eating dessert. THe other thing I love about all holidays is we usually get to play games which I love but my husband isn't a fan of. So it will be only like the third time this year that I have played a game! CRAZY!
I second the Black Friday shopping being a tradition. I started a new tradition this year, of filling a decorated jar with scraps of colorful paper, and for an FHE in November we write down things we're grateful for, then use it for a centerpiece the rest of the month.
I always listen to Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant". Its the longest, most pointless song ever, but my dad and I use to always listen to it on Thanksgiving, so I still listen, even if its only a few minutes, and even if I'm by myself.
I always watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade! And now that my girls are on the scene, we also watch the dog show afterwards (well, they watch it, anyway). Then we have dinner with friends, and after the girls are asleep that night, Brian and I start sifting through the ads and planning our Black Friday.
