As much as my daughter loves to get out and do things like playgroup, storytime at the library, etc. I'm trying to make sure we have one whole day at home each week, where we just stay in our comfy clothes and play together. As for me personally, I feel like I am gone a lot of evenings since I work two nights a week and have Mutual on Wed. So I'm going to start turning down the extras, like Book Club, just because it's more important to me to be home with my family.
I am going to keep my house decluttered. If it doesn't get used it's out of here. Also I am going to simplify my discipline strategies and keep things black and white with my son. Which will make life a lot easier. Also setting new rules when we move into our new place. Quiet time everyday at 1:00 and bed by 9:00 all with Cedric being put in his room to do it himself. That will make my life simpler. But I need to not plan things that will interfere with nap time since I love to be on the go.
Simplifying is my goal for 2009, too. In our house this year is named "The Year of Embracing Simplicity." We are implementing the "one in - one out" policy for food, clothes, shower gels, etc. Every time we buy something we gotta get rid of something else. I have a tendency to want luxurious or fancy things, but this year it is all about the simple pleasures like chocolate milk.
Organizing menu's for lunch and dinner so I'm less stressed out come meal times. Maybe thats a bit OCD but I need it. It's too chaotic without having a plan.

back to the basics for us-we need to brush up on the "essentials" that we let go of too often like scriptures
