I don't do new years resolutions. Instead, my husband and I do yearly goals at our anniversary (in June). Having said that I have set up a new schedule for myself in an attempt to use my time and resources better. We are also looking into refinancing our house in order to reduce our debt (interest rates are quite good right now).

Mine is more of a mantra to live after the manner of happiness...so whatever actions I can take that brings true lasting happiness...that's what I will do. That way, I don't have to make a long list of goals that will be easily forgotten...Instead, I'll remember my mantra and make my decisions that way.

Live more frugally and work hard to get out of debt. And to lose weight( I know, I am real original!)

I LOVE setting goals, so this year I decided to find three areas to improve in and set a goal in each of those areas at the beginning of each month.

The areas are:
*Be faithful
*Lay up in store
*Unencumber my life

(The areas come from a talk called Lay Up In Store from the April 2007 Priesthood session of Conference)

I set three great goals for January, but my favourite so far falls in the "Unencumber my life" area. I want to spend more time with Cecelia and less time online, so I only turn on the computer during naptime and after she is in bed. Already I have seen an incredible change in my attitude, Cecelia's attitude and our relationship. It has been WONDERFUL.

What does unencumber mean? I am intrigued!

Ditto to your goal Steph!

I have a goal to add one new meal to my dinner "repertoire" each month.

The dictionary definition of unencumber is--> To free from incumbrance; to disencumber.

The definition of incumbrance is--> A burdensome and troublesome load; anything that impedes motion or action, or renders it difficult or laborious; clog; impediment; hindrance; check

So basically, each month I want to find something I can work on that will make life more simple or help me remove things that are unnecessary from my life. Such as, the extreme amount of time I could/would be spending on the computer! :D

I don't do new years resolutions really either. I guess an ongoing goal I have though is to work on my anger issues. Any ideas of how to help manager anger are appreciated!

My husband and I started a healthy living plan before the end of last year, and we have really liked it, so we decided that we needed to expand it into becoming a healthy and active family. We are going to try and do more outdoor activities as a family. So far we are doing good, but we will have to see how good we are went the Texas summer hits.

I plan to
1) Lose 15 pounds
2) Pay our car off
3) Have my food storage bulked up.

Considering how I'm about a week away from delivering a baby I'm gauranteed some serious weight loss this year. SWEET. That's about all I have planned right now, although building up the food storage is something that's always on my mind.

My goal right now is more like a semiannual goal because in June we are having a baby and moving across the country all in one. I want to pack everything I can in a super awesome organized way before I get too fat to want to do anything at all. I am hoping that will make things easier when the baby comes, as well as when we have to unpack everything when the move is over.
