I found watching conference with the kiddoes to be a particularly big challenge this year. I definitely look forward to my Ensign. However, I was very much moved by Jeffrey R. Holland's talk on the Book of Mormon. What a powerful testimony. I'm so glad I heard that talk versus just reading it, but I'll look forward to reading it too.
We are up in Utah and went to this morning's (Sunday)session. While I completely enjoyed all the talks and music, I have to say that my favourite moment was when the Prophet walked into the Conference Center. I was teary... I just love the feeling in the room when he walks in. The spirit was so strong and totally set the mood and helped me to be ready to listen and be inspired. I definitely felt inspired as well. I am ready to make some changes in my life and the way our family does things in order to be more in line with having a Christ centered home.
I agree with Linz that Elder Holland's talk was amazing to watch. The Spirit was so strong and it was such a powerful testimony born, it just made me remember how much I truly love that sacred book.
I also really enjoyed Elder Bednar's talk. I like how straight-forward he is in his talks, and I always love advice for the home.
One quote from Elder D. Todd Christofferson's talk really struck me too when he said (and this isn't quite exact), "Providing spiritual experiences for your children in the home is just as important as providing food, clothing and shelter." I thought that was so powerful and just made me realize exactly where my priorities need to be in my house!!
Okay, I lied in my comment. The last quote was from Elder Cook and he said, "Spiritual observance in the home is just as important as providing food, clothing and shelter." Anyway, just wanted to clarify, so no one was confused. :)
