Jeans

Where does everyone buy their jeans? What is your favorite brand? I'm a HUGE thrift store shopper, and I usually get my jeans there, but it tends to be hit and miss and well this time was a miss. I am in desperate need of a new pair and I looked at some stores around here, but I am very unhappy with what they had to offer. My biggest (ha ha) problem is my hips. They are huge, and my waist is much smaller. So in order for jeans to fit, they have to get over my birthing hips.... and with the way so many jeans are made now (low rise, etc) it seems like if I want anything to fit, I have to buy 3 sizes too big everywhere else so I can button them. Anyone else frusterated with this problem?

I'm really tall and the ONLY jeans that fit me right (believe me...I've spent hours trying to find cheaper pairs) are GAP's long and lean. I try to buy them at outlet malls at least...or when I have a coupon. But still...I try to make them last a LONG time so that I only have to buy one pair... I don't know if that helps you (if you're tall or not) but they are the best jeans for a tall person with thighs that aren't so skinny... :) I think the jeans are very flattering.

All the jeans that I currently have were given to me but I agree the pair I like the best are Gap and I remember a while back at the LC I inherited a pair of pants from Buckle and I still by far love them the best of any jeans I have ever had. But I hear they sell their jeans for a ton of money so it;s not cost effective. But if you find a pair at a thrift store try them out!

Maybe this makes me seem old - like your mom - but Lee Jeans are actually made to fit a woman's curves (yup, those birthing hips) and they are coming out with some new styles that are a bit more stylish. Having said that, I'm cheap and so I buy my jeans at Ross or TJ Maxx or Kohl clearance rack. I hate shopping for jeans these days for all the reasons you mentioned - low-riders are in and I have a big bum.

My sister has the same problem of the large hips (and her waste is actually pretty small). She really likes the jeans from maurices. For my body type i love the ones from American Eagle. I think its all about trying on a ton of jeans until you find the right pair..

I just bought my first pair of Lee jeans right after Christmas and I have to say, despite wanting to still shop in the Jrs section, I love my Lee jeans. Like BamaMama said, they are made to fit a woman's figure... and they are super flattering. I actually feel skinny when I wear them, even though I'm flubbery (is that a word!?) all over from having a baby. I bought mine at Kohls... they were about $30 which isn't too bad.

I'm an Old Navy shopper myself. After my last baby I found jeans there that weren't low rise that fit perfectly, so I bought the same pair in a couple shades. Plus they come in short, regular and tall. I think they were about $20-25. The BEST brand for me(if money wasn't an issue) was Silver brand, which they sell at the Buckle or Maurices. I have only found them at thrift stores very sporadically, though. Good luck!

I have the hips problem too, and the only jeans that fit me well that I have found(and believe me I have looked EVERYWHERE) are Lucky or Buckle jeans. Yes Lucky jeans are expensive at around $100 a pair, but the Buckle brand jeans are mock Lucky jeans and fit just as well at around $60 a pair. I am a total bargain shopper, but a good pair of jeans is worth the money for me. It is pretty much the only thing I will buy not on sale.
