depends on where i'm living... when i'm at home in Arkansas, it's "coke"! it doesn't matter if i'm really talking about sprite or pepsi, it's still coke! when i'm at my hubby's home in MN, it's soda and out here, it's pop! i like to cover my bases!
Pop! I will never forget when I said that in the UK--my friends had no idea what I was talking about. When I explained, they laughed because they thought the word sounded SO funny. I asked them what they called it, and when they said, "Fizzy drinks!" we all agreed that their term wasn't much better than mine. :)
but this is pretty interesting... a map from the Jouranl of English Linguistics that shows what people call it around the nation. you should check it out. it's #308, called "The Pop Vs Soda Map"

"Pop" usually. Isaac calls everything that's not water, "Juice," so it ends up being called "Juice" in our house too.
pop! although I'm with Staci in that if Megan ever gets any (like when she has the flu) we call it "special juice."
pop
Usually I call is "Soda pop" but when I shorten it, it's "pop"
I think I say "pop" but we don't really drink it around this house. When I do say it, it really brings out my Chicago accent.
Pop, and all my southern relatives make fun of me!
We call it soda in our house.
Definitely POP!!!!!

COKE! Go Texas! :)
"Pop" when I'm in Michigan, but if I go to visit my family in Wisconsin or Minnesota then it's "Soda"!
Soda or pop... depends on the day! We don't drink it though, so I rarely refer to it.
Like the rest of the Michiganders - Pop.

All growing up it was Pop but now it is Soda. If I say Pop now my husband pretends he can't understand me or corrects me. He is silly.

Pop . . . I think?! It's hard to remember when I try to think about it!
