Returning Bottles
Two different people have told me in the past few days that they brought their Avent bottles into Babies R Us and were given an in-store credit to buy BPA-free bottles. I threw my Avent bottles away and just bought the Born Free bottles (free of BPA), but it would have been awesome to get some in-store credit to buy them! Just wanted to pass this along.

what do you guys know about BPA? I don't know much but not to be a bad mom but do you think it's as big of a deal as they make it out to be or a lot of hype and hubub??
we rarely microwaved our bottles, our first drank milk cold and we warmed the breast milk in it's freezer baggies so it wasn't much of an issue, so is BPA an issue if you're not microwaving or am i missing the boat here?
i have to admit, i'm a cheapskate, i'm sure the BPA-free are more expensive and it seems ridiculous to just throw away perfectly good bottles but not if it's all a real problem. what do you guys know?
Great questions Liz, I don't know anything about this either. I really appreciate the info though Linz, thanks!
I'm learning but it has to do with what the plastic bottle is made of. I read that even Nalgene bottles are not BPA-free. I'm using bottles a lot so it was worth it to me to make the switch. BPA is being linked to cancer and endometriosis and stuff.
I just read in Parents Magazine that most of the major bottle companies now have a BPA-free option. I figure if Babies R Us will take back your other bottles, why not do it?
I don't know much about the BPA thing, but I called my Babies R Us and they told me to bring my bottles in and I would be able to exchange them. So I did. I'd much rather be safe than sorry. I am now the proud owner of 3 brand new Avent Tempo bottles and over 200 refills. (They are the bottles that use disposable liners) It was fairly simple to do the exchange.
