Good Movies

Okay, so all of this ClearPlay talk has got me thinking about movies. My husband and I NEVER see movies anymore, because well, first of all, they're so expensive. But, secondly, even with ratings we never really know the message of a movie/the amount of language/sexual content/etc. It seems like we can never see romantic comedies anymore, which makes me so sad, because I love that genre. But anyway....what are some of everyone's favorite movies that they would recommend to everyone to see? I'm curious to see what has been liked. Also, if there's any movie that you would highly not recommend, go ahead and put that one too to give us all a head's up!

Okay, as I mentioned...we never see movies, so we're behind on the times...(we haven't been to the actual theater since Cars came out). But, lately we rented Hairspray and I LOVED it. Partly because I have a high school girl's crush on Zac Efron (I LOVE the High School Musical movies...) but I also really loved the message of the movie. It was a really good happy, upbeat movie! My husband thought it was okay...my group of girl friends in our ward say that its one of their favorite movies.

Also, my husband and I recently rented Evan Almighty. It was SOOO good! I know that a lot of people shied away from it, because it looked like it might be sacreligious...it wasn't! It truly was a Christian movie...and hilarious. I like Steve Carell.

Also, we just saw Ratatouille. (I don't know if I spelled that right.) It was cute. I enjoyed it. It wasn't my favorite Pixar movie, but an enjoyable one. :)

There you have it. That's my list for now.

I am not sure what movies to recommend but I do have a website to recommend. It is www.cinemareview.com it tells you all the content of movies including what sex is in it and what language, drugs, and violence. I love it. I have been using it for years to look up movies to see if they would be ok to watch. Check it out!

I feel like its been FOREVER since I've seen a good movie. I watch a lot of Disney, and Friends reruns... at least then I know what I'm getting! We did watch Dreamer awhile back and I thought it was a really sweet, wholesome movie. And I recently bought She's The Man, which is a tween movie with Amanda Bynes, but its the storyline of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. I enjoyed it.

I really liked Enchanted and Stardust. I recommend both of them.

Kind of a random list: Holes, Secondhand Lions, Big Fish (can't remember how clean it is but my hubby and I bawled like babies for whatever reason). I'm sure I can think of more...

We just rented Meet the Robinsons, which is a Disney movie that's kinda on the DL. It was hiarious! I was laughing so hard at a couple parts.

The last movie we saw in the theater was Dan in Real Life, which I really really liked, even more than I thought I would. That has Steve Carell in it too.

And if worse comes to worst, you could always watch Harry Potter movies over and over again. That's what I do. :)
