Dateline with J.K. Rowling

Did anyone get to see Sunday's Dateline with J.K. Rowling? I already felt totally satisified with the book, but seeing the show made me feel even more of a sense of finality. I'll write more in a comment so as not to spoil anything for anyone still reading.

In this show, I loved how she explained her affection for Arthur Weasley and how he originally was supposed to die but that he was sort of replaced by the deaths of Tonks and Lupin to kind of echo the deaths of James and Lilly and represent the horror of Voldemort.

I loved how she explained Snape as complicated and that he wasn't unequivocally good but that he showed bravery and was capable of love.

She enhanced the Epilogue a bit by explaining that Harry and Ron were Aurors and totally transformed the Auror Dept. and I think that Hermione works for Magical Law Enforcement.

Anyway, it was a GREAT show.

I only saw half of it because we had friends over for dinner, but online you can find the Today show segments and short clips and the text interview.

And ditto on your comments, Linz!

I didn't know that they had her on but I checked it out online after I read your post. It was awesome to hear her talk about what the characters did during those 19 years and everything else she had to say about the book. Thanks Linz!

Wow! I'm so bummed I didn't hear about that! I was just getting ready to post this from cnn.com about the Epilogue extras that she spoke about in an online chat:

I think my hubby read that on-line chat. And it's funny, there it said that Ron joined George in the joke shop business when on TV she said he became an Auror.

THen again who really cares, J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter rock my world.
