Scented candles

I just bought some fresh ripe nectarines. They are delicious. I love the smell of them!! If I could I would love to have a nectarine scented candle. I would probably use it all the time, except for Christmas. I have a cinnamon and something scented candle that, to me, fits the season perfectly. Do any of you use scented candles much, what are your favorite scents?

I don't even eat nectarines but your post made me want some. I love this Yankee Candle scent called Autumn Harvest. It's PERFECT for the Fall.

Mmm...I love pumpkin or apple scented candles in the fall, snickerdoodle or candy cane in the winter, and lilac in the spring. I didn't use them much during the past three years since my first was born out of fear that she'd knock it over and burn the place down. However, my mother-in-law just got me one of those little candle hot plates that melt the jar candles to let off the scent and make the candle last a lot longer. I'd never heard of them before (ironically, my husband had). At first I thought it was a cheesy, grandma-type thing to have, but I absolutely love being able to use scented candles without fear!

I use a candle warmer as well, and in addition to being safer, the candles last SOOO much longer. I get candles from a company called Gold Canyon. A girl at work sells them. They are similar to Yankee, only even better, in my opinion! Some of my favorite scents are orange vanilla, coconut lime verbena, and mulled cider. We used the last one for a year, until I finally threw it out just because I was ready for a new scent! So I definitely recommend the candle warmers!

I don't have a candle warmer, so I have a lot of soy wax candles because I was told they create less soot, less black mess. We have a yummy holiday one but I'm all about the fruit in the spring and summer! My favorite is a cherry vanilla.

I also have a candle warmer and it is great! I just recently heard about the soy candles. Liz&Meg, do you notice much of a difference from regular wax candles?

I don't get the candle warmer thing. You just put the candle on a plate when you want to use it and then it lets off the scent that way?

It's like a little hot plate. The edge is plastic and the center is the hot part. It melts the candle, slowly. Sorry, that wasn't a good description.

I honestly don't notice much of a difference. My friend makes them and says if you put it on a shelf, you'll notice it on the shelf above-I think it's stupid to put it on a shelf (hello, fire hazard!) so it makes no sense to me! :) But the jars don't get the black ring around the top as much so maybe it does make a difference. I don't buy them purposefully soy wax, I just happen to have a lot from my friend! :)

Linz, they are electric, so they melt the candle from the bottom up instead of burning from the top down. You can get them places like Target for less than $10, in the candle section!
