Happy Fall Day!

I love Fall! I got out my fall decorations a few weeks ago-couldn't resist- but it's finally here! I love the crisp air and pumpkins and changing leaves and the humidity finally going away! It may not feel a lot like fall where you are (it's 80 degrees here today but the leaves are already changing!) but celebrate, change is coming!! This year, I'm determined to take my toddler to a pumpkin patch and go apple picking. I've never been! What do you love about fall? What do you like to do in the fall??

WHERE do you live?! I'm moving there! Here in Texas we don't get fall..... and of course it's my FAV time of year! I did get my fall stuff out 2 weeks ago and lit the pumpkin spice candles- put the air on high and tried to PRETEND it was fall!
I crave visiting climates where fall is visible... the absolute most beautiful place I've ever experienced fall is upstate New York. Simply breathtaking! We paint pumpkins, bake lots of pumpkin dishes, and eat candy corn- has anyone tasted the new "caramel candy corn?" It is so delish! Happy Fall Ya'll!!

Amen sistah! I LOVE FALL!! This is my first Fall not in the Midwest so I'm struggling a bit right now. Um...actually a lot. But I'm going to keep your quote in my head "Celebrate, change is coming!"

I love going to apple orchards and pumpkin patches in the Fall. I hope I can find something like that in Texas.

I love to go on walks in the Fall and eat pumpkin stuff!

Fall is my fave season too--it always has been! I remember going on walks with my dad (which was a rarity, as he worked crazy hours), and relishing every minute as he would point out different leaves and quiz me on what trees they came from (we had lots of oaks and maples on our block, so there were lots of "gimmes").

I also love bringing out the jeans again and the sweaters and feeling free to eat all the soups and baked goods I want (mmm...Liz's pumpkin bars...see the S&S cookbook if you haven't made them yet)!

Like Liz, the first time I picked apples was when my first was about 18-19 months old, and it was so much fun! I highly recommend it. Don't forget the camera! (Liz, we should go together--there's a great place west of you. It's called Minnetonka Orchards, even though it's not in Minnetonka). I think I love fall even more as a mom, since I can enjoy all the kid-oriented stuff more (picking and carving pumpkins, trick-or-treating). It's so much fun!

Jules and Linz, I grew up in Arkansas so believe me, I know how it feels to not have a fall. It comes, just really really late! But hey, you can't complain about your winters! :) My fam is still down there and they just pretend it's fall. Halloween costumes in cold Minnesota are much different from the ones I wore as a kid in Arkansas! :)

And Jules, someday I want to visit New England during their fall!!! I was watching the movie Stepmom the other night (another fall tradition for some reason) and was sooooo envious of their beautiful long fall!

I just did a post about this on my blog! I agree with all the above! My all time favorite has to be just having the windows open and enjoying the fresh air that smells so great, the pretty colors, and wearing jeans again.

I love, love, love the Fall! Last night we made caramel/chocolate covered apples and they were absolutely heavenly. This is by far my very favorite season.

Ahh! I love fall as well! I'm so excited to see the hills around here aflame with color!

But my favorite part about fall is the light. I know, sounds strange! But the sun is in a different position, so the shadows are longer and it just feels different.

I, of course, love the cooler weather, the smells, and wearing long sleeved shirts (or sweaters or hoodies).
