Car Seat Question

It's hard to believe that this little baby confused by her new surroundings fresh out of the hospital has turned into this giant dancer with statues. But...its true. Megan is a giant. And the time has come for us to buy her a new car seat. I have no idea what to get her. What are your opinions of the convertible car seats that you got for your children? What features do you like/dislike? Thanks for the help. :)

Thanks for posting this Tiffany! I've been wondering the same thing! My son will be ready to switch in less than two weeks and I'm not sure what to do yet!

We got an Evenflo Triumph and love it! We have the older version of this one. Actually we have two of them! We got one fro 25 bucks as a second seat! I love it, it's comfy for her and not super expensive. We couldn't afford Britax which are the best, but this was a great affordable alternative! (We also didn't get this souped up one-ours was the cheaper version)

Thanks to the previous posts on this blog, I ended up also getting an Evenflo Triumph. And it has been fantastic! In fact, when I looked it up on Consumer Reports the Triumph was neck-in-neck with the Britax, and the only thing that the Britax was better in was usability (and only slightly). The Triumph was actually slightly safer than the Britax. And half the price. So it was the one that made the most sense. As for some reviews that would say it's hard to tighten and loosen, you just have to carefully follow the instructions when you get it and it's easy as pie. (And I like pie!) Anyway, thanks Sugar and Spice for great advice!

We just got a convertible car seat for our daughter and decided to go with the Britax Roundabout. We've only been using it for a week, but we love it. They are expensive in the store ($220), but I watched ebay for about a month and ended up getting a brand new one for $140 including shipping. I got lucky because I had some time to watch and wait for the best deal.

I just bought the Evenflo Titan (which was the top ranked convertible car seat in the consumer reports test). I plan on installing it this weekend. The price was great, I bought it at Target for $99.

I considered the Triumph but it looked HUGE, bigger than the drivers captain chairs!

I'm curious with ebay, bethany, how did you guarantee that it was new? that would be the thing that would make me nervous about buying it on ebay.

I was a little nervous about that, and you do have to be careful. I just made sure to go with a baby supply store on ebay with positive reviews that made sure to say that the car seat was brand new in the box with the tags and manufactured in 2007. There probably is a little more risk involved, but I had a friend at church who got hers on ebay and just raved about it so I gave it a shot.
