Costco?

I have heard many of you ladies mention Costco, and now that I finally live close to one I am debating whether or not to purchase a membership. Do many of you shop there? Do you do all of your shopping there or just your bulk items? What kinds of items have you found to be a better deal there? Do you feel like you save enough money there to make a membership worth it?

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Costco! I DEFINITELY think that a membership is worth it. My husband and I even have the executive (more expensive) membership and it has payed off ENORMOUSLY every year.

My husband and I shop at Costco for just about everything. We find that it typically has better deals than everywhere else (with the exception of the super bargain prices that places have for promotions and sales, etc.) and it always has excellent quality (even on the generic brands). Lots of people say its silly for two people to shop exclusively at Costco b/c two (and a half) people can't eat that much food..but it totally works for us. For canned products...we always have food storage in our cupboards, for milk my husband is a huge drinker and so we never have any problems with that, for cheese the blocks are awesome and the shredded cheese we always freeze half and then use it once the first half is gone. We LOVE their produce (sometimes we don't use all of our lettuce in time...but I've compared to the grocery store and buying the bag with five romaine hearts at Costco is still cheaper than buying the one with three at the grocery store so I don't feel bad about it..) and they always have good deals on crackers and stuff. Also, my husband exclusively clothes shops at Costco. And we've gotten all of our daughter's (Carter's) pajamas there for cheaper than any other store I've seen. We get our diapers there, we got our formula there, I've gotten prescriptions there, we got our kitchenaid there and our rice cooker. We love Costco. :) Also, the gas prices in and of themselves typically make a membership worth it. Also, its a great date night...a couple hot dogs, some drinks...and delicious samples! Could you ask for anything more? ;)

I'm sorry that I've written so much...but I LOVE Costco. We go there every week...and still always have stuff to buy. :) I do get my little items (salad dressing, sour cream, condiments) at the regular grocery store. But everything else we get at Costco.

Also, the best thing about Costco is their return policy. They will let you return anything for cash. And they have a lifetime return policy. If you bought something two years ago and it just broke, Costco will still let you return it. It's amazing. (The exception is electronics...those have a 90 day return policy) Anyway...the point of this rant is that I think that its worth it to get a membership. But that's just me. :)

It is worth it. I don't shop there as much as Tiffany but I definitely feel the cost of membership is worth it. I save that much in milk alone. Here are the other things I frequently buy there: food storage items (mostly boxes of canned goods), Tillamook cheese blocks (so much more affordable than buying 8 oz. shredded cheese bags), chicken, ground turkey, frozen foods like vegetable lasagna and potstickers, kleenex, DIAPERS, fruit snacks, water bottles, and more. I even bought our bed frame there. The food court is cheap and fun to go too. I love it. I'll have to experiment a little with Tiffany's shopping there. I still feel the need to go to my local grocery store each week because I feel like I wouldn't be able to finish off certain things in huge quantities. But I probably go to Costco 3 times a month.

I'm with Linz, I don't do my weekly grocery shopping at Costco, but it is worth it for us to save on gas. Gas prices at Costco are often up to 14 cents cheaper than other places. We have no problem going through the 2-pack of milk in a week either, and their frozen chicken lasts us a month. As far as other items like paper products, it is great to stock up on them once a year or so. It seems like a large bill, but we've lasted over a year now on Ziplocs, Trash bags, etc. It's nice to just not have to think about those things. All in all, it is worth it, and it is fun to get all of the free samples while you are shopping!

I LOVE Costco also!! For us (lame as this sounds! Don't judge me!) its a very fun place to walk around when the heat of summer is unbearable!!

One of my favourite things to buy at Costco is meat and butter. We are huge seafood lovers and the fish at Costco is fabulous quality. I buy salmon there in bulk for usually around $5-6 a lb and it is the tastiest salmon ever. I don't like margarine, so I tend to use butter when I'm cooking, and Costco can't be beat when it comes to the price of butter. I also buy toilet paper and paper towels there... I know they can be found cheaper using coupons and sales, but I know I like the Kirkland brand stuff and I never seem to find the really good deals elsewhere.

I could go on and on about what I love about Costco (picture printing for instance!) but I won't bore you! Basically, I think its totally worth the cost of a membership.
