I read fairly recently about conserving gas in your car. Here are the two main things I remember:
1. Some gas can burn off if cars are left out in the sun. Try to park in a covered area or garage when possible.
2. More weight in your car requires more gas to make the car move, like a stroller in the trunk.
Anyone else have ideas to share?

-buy cheap gas. very few cars require fancy gas
-take the bus. i'm going to be taking trax to work now that i'm working again and my hubby was a trooper and took the bus downtown when we lived in minnesota
-we have a 4WD car and a fuel-efficient car so whoever's driving longer gets the fuel efficient car so that we don't waste as much
-take advantage of stores like supertarget and superwalmart where you can one-stop shop
-cruise control. consistent speeds save gas as well as NOT speeding (the first is easier for me to do though! :)
maybe these are no-brainers but they're things we try and think about at our house
Fill up when your gas tank is only 1/2 empty because gas will vaporize. But I've also heard that the extra weight of carrying a full tank uses more gas. Anyone want to set me straight on these?
Change your air filter when you get your oil changed and make sure your tire pressure is correct. Both those factors can help you get better gas mileage. I haven't done it yet, but I am looking into getting a general tune up to see if that makes a difference too. My car needs one, so gas prices aren't my only reason for doing that, but I sure hope it helps!
