I don't know if this would be a lesson but I have learned to love and appreciate books and reading. I think that is very important especially in this technology filled world. I hope my kids will see me as a reader and become readers themselves.
I should add to that comment that my Mom always read books and she would read to me. My family used to gather on her bed and all read books to ourselves too. I just remember loving that.
My mom taught me how to put her children's needs before her own. She was ALWAYS doing stuff for us (like getting up at 5:30 in the morning to make us our school lunches before we went to seminary). She did stuff like that for us that she didn't really NEED to do..it was just a simple act of kindness for her children that she WANTED to do for us. And I'm forever grateful to her for it. I try to think about that with my own daughter and placing her needs or even wants before my own. I don't always succeed...but I try! :)
My mom is ALWAYS working to improve herself. It seems that she is in a constant state of self-evaluation and then self-improvement (isn't that repentance?). She amazes me with her capacity for change and progress. She just recently began taking piano lessons. It is really hard for her but she is loving it.

Unconditional Love! Also, she always makes holidays and other events feel super special.

My Mom taught me to sing, to sew, and to want to be a mom.
