Is that what it's called? I'm thinking of the day after Thanksgiving: the busiest shopping day of the year. Just curious, how many of you go shopping on this day? How many of you go at the break of dawn? I don't know if I have ever gone shopping on that day but I'm thinking about it!

my brother and his wife are all over it! they make plans and lists of the things they're going to try and get and go at the crack of dawn! i went with them once and bailed halfway through the morning! not for me! i'd much rather pay more the next week and not get mad at hundreds of people! :)
I don't think that I ever have. This year when we actually have a little money I have to work.
I am so about buying gift months in advance. I don't like the stress of buying in crowds of crazy people. I would rather just walk around and enjoy the lights and decorations.
My husband and I went with a friend a few years ago. It was unbelievable. I'm not willing to get up at 4am and compete against hundreds of people to get a certain gift. We have gone the day after Christmas or New Years and that wasn't as bad.
I'm going this year with my friend Natalie. And I'm a little embarrassed to say, we are going all out. Our husbands work together and they are on the night shift, so we are having one of my friends watch our girls for us while we go. We are planning to be at the mall for the opening of the Disney Store at 3am. I've shopped on Black Friday before, but never like this! We'll see how it goes, and then I'll decide if I'm ever willing to do it again! If nothing else, Nat and I will have a lot of fun being sleep deprived and spending money! Even if we don't get the "killer deals"!
I used to always go with my family but the earliest we ever got up was like 4:45am. Now I usually at least like to go to Target and get a couple of things but I don't have to get up super early for that. I also love going to Joann's sometime during the day because they have awesome scrapbook paper and fabric deals!
I am ALL about it! Wahoo! I got into it because of my aunts. They plan for it all year and it's a big girl's day! They start at the crack of dawn of course, and go all day, going out to eat and ending up at someone's house and wrapping gifts while watching movies. They live in Utah, but I've tried to start my own version here. If you go because you're trying to get a certain item, and you're going to be stressed out if you don't get it, then it's no fun at all. That's not why I go. But if you go for the experience, then it can be a really fun day. In my opinion, here's the necessities for making it fun:
-NO KIDS (not only is it not very practical, but then you get an enjoyable day off)
-At least one girlfriend, then you don't notice the long lines because you get to gab the whole time
-Again, the attitude. If you just go for the experience and to have a good time, you'll come home with some great deals and you will have had a fun morning, day, whatever with the girls!
I CAN'T WAIT!!!
The past few years, Brian has gone at 3am or whenever to hit up Best Buy, Target, and anywhere else that has great doorbusters. He loves it! Come to think of it, I think it's the only time he shops all year... The down side is that he inevitably does some impulse buying, so we end up doing returns for the rest of the day. :)
I'm totally with Steph! My mom and sister and I go over the ads numerous times on Thanksgiving (once we are stuffed and don't feel like moving) and make lists. We ALWAYS hit Joann's! They have the best deals on fleece and flannel! We don't take the kids or the hubbys. I LOVE it!
