Nope. My husband is. It's one of his favorite things about Thanksgiving. It's his thanksgiving 'trademark' I guess. I've yet to cook a turkey. I'm sure I'll cook one eventually...but it would probably be because he's on a deployment and couldn't be home.
Yup! I love Thanksgiving! The one upside to living so far from family is that I get to play hostess. I know, I'm a freak, but I love having people over--it makes our apartment feel so much more like a home when we have memories of our friends there.
No... and I don't know when/if I'll ever get the chance. We live near all of Scott's family so its a big get together every year, and it usually rotates between his mom, aunt and grandma's house... we'll see though. Maybe one day.
Laura- I am TOTALLY with you. I love being the hostess and would love to have dinner over here, but I haven't wormed my way into the rotation.
My Mom is!!!! I haven't ever cooked one myself and I'm scared to! :) My husband loves my Mom's cooking so much that I don't have to ask to come home for Thanksgiving...he does it for me! :)
No. Wish I was. MIL is leaving it up to Boston Market this year.
This will be my first Thanksgiving doing so. Luckily not my first turkey though, I would hate making my first one when it really counts.
No, thank heavens! I don't feel prepared to do something like that yet. I'm still in charge of a salad or pie which suits me JUST fine!
Nope! My MIL does most of the stuff for Thanksgiving. We're bringing the sweet potatoes and pumpkin bread and that's just fine with me!
No! Not quite ready for that although I've studied my mom in action in the past to get ready for it.
Yes, if we actually decide to do the turkey thing.
I was petrified the first time I cooked the turkey, but it was awesome and MUCH easier than I expected. My lifesaver: using a turkey bag!
Nope, we are at my brother's house and they are doing brine turkey. I'm interested to see how it turns out. I'm in charge of the rolls - dinner rolls and pumpkin rolls. I make them with my mom's recipes and that makes my brother happy. It also makes my hubby happy - he loves my mom's recipes.
I'm with those who like to play hostess. One year when I was at USU I didn't go home to OR for Thanksgiving and had the missionaries and others over. It was fun.
