Valentines day is a week away and I need ideas. I have not had time to make plans but I want to do something special and different for my husband. What are your plans for Valentines day? What are you doing that is special for your spouse?
We tend to be a little bit anti-Valentines day, since my birthday is two weeks later and we make a pretty big deal out of birthdays in our house. This year we are going out to dinner and I have a few fun presents that I've stashed away for Scott. We are actually celebrating Vday the day before because Scott will be working Thursday night.
Can you find a sitter for Cedric and cook a nice romantic dinner for you and Eric? Other ideas... you could make him a homemade Valentines day card and write him a cute little note telling him how much you love and appreciate him. List some of the specific things about him that you love and put them together in a little book. Make him a mix tape (just kidding... thought I'd throw in a little Friend's reference for you!) I'm excited to see what ideas other girls have, because this is so not a holiday I am good at celebrating!
My husband's birthday is two weeks before so I'm the same way as Claire! We have a nice dinner and give each other a card usually! However, this year I feel like i should do something more with him in Utah and me in Minnesota!
Last year I cut out about 30 hearts and then wrote something I love about Phil on each one. Then I went to his office and put the hearts all over his office. Of course he loved it (he kept the hearts) but one of the best parts was when his secretary, co-workers, and students would come into his office and see and comment. It just made him beam to be so "publicly" loved.
He emailed all my family and friends back in Utah (since it was my first year in 'bama) and had them send him V-cards and then he made me a "mailbox" (like the ones you made in 2nd grade) and put all the cards in it and gave it to me. It was great!
How do either of us top last year? I'll be watching y'alls replies.
I always make my husband a "coupon book" like you used to give your mom on mother's day. Stuff like, "this is good for one day of no diaper changes" or "this is good for one morning of sleeping in" or "this is good for one guilt-free campout with the boys" He always loves them. We usually do some funny ones too. He gets me flowers and writes me a nice note..and we get free chipotle. That's about as romantic as we get. :)
