Recognizing the Spirit in everyday life
A few years ago we were in a ward with a really wonderful family. Every Sunday they had a family from the ward over for dinner as well as a family who did not belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. At the end of dinner, every member of the family got to light a candle and then tell of an experience during their week where they felt the Spirit. We were so blessed to be invited over for dinner one Sunday and it was such a wonderful experience. I want to do this with my kids in the future. What a great way to teach your children how to recognize the Holy Ghost in their lives.

That sounds like a fun idea.
I love it!! What a great idea.
That's an awesome idea, thanks for sharing!
I have a lot of trouble recognizing the Spirit and knowing I'm having personal revelation. However, when I am seeking an answer or praying for something in specific, I can recognize it more readily. Does that make sense? Well, in our ward conference on Sunday, our stake president talked to us about having a revelation journal. you write down your thoughts and impressions and, if they come to pass, you know it was personal revelation and not just your own thoughts. And gradually you come to more fully recognize how the Spirit speaks to you.
