Our FHE this week was awesome!!! Scott called on Cecelia to say the opening prayer and I was sure she wouldn't do it, but with a little help, she said the prayer for the first time ever!!!!! Its an FHE for the record books!! Then we had a very quick lesson and headed to the park for some family play time. It was great.
this is where i sheepishly admit that after putting M to bed and a crazy evening where everyone ate at different times and such, that we looked at each other and said, uh oh, we forgot FHE! We rescheduled for later this week! :)
We used FHE as a chance to explain to our children HOW TO WHISPER...as in the voice they should be using during Sacrament meeting! We sang songs really loud then when my husband said "whisper" we kept singing in a hushed tone. It was funny. I also made the kids sit in chairs that I set up in our playroom, so that my oldest who just graduated to Primary would learn how to sit still in a chair for more than two seconds! (Hey, I didn't like sitting still either at his age...practice will help!)
I also gave each child a small note. On it, I wrote one thing that I was proud of them for doing that day. Neither of them can read, so I read it to them. They really liked that.
