Taking Care of Those Pearly Whites

So since lots of our little ones are still teething, there might not be much input on this, but when and how did you start brushing your baby's teeth? We got a tooth brushing kit at a shower and so I've just been giving M starter tooth brushes to gnaw on for months but I'm fearing toothbrush rejection when I try to start real brushing with toothpaste. Any tricks or tips?

My youngest is 18 months and whenever I was brushing his older brothers teeth he always wanted to too. So, for the last couple of months he has had his own toothbrush that he could use while the others brushed their teeth. I always put toothpaste on it because he insisted. Eventually, after he had his chance to enjoy the toothbrush I would then take it and brush his teeth as much as he would let me. I never really fight with him because I don't want to deal with it, but he usually lets me have my turn with his brush. And he has gotten very good at letting me brush his teeth.
