Grandparents

Just curious...

What are your kids' names for their grandparents? (Like the ones you created, not "ba" and "doo doo") Do you have different names for different sets of grandparents?

My husband's parents are just Grandma and Grandpa Flake. My mom likes to be called Grandma Vicki(she thinks Grandma Fredline makes her sound old) and my sister's kids call my dad Pa.

We call my husband's parents Noni and Poppy. My mom is Grammie (that's what we called her mom) and my dad is just Grandpa.

my nephews call my parents grandma and papa. we'll probably follow that. my baby is the first on the other side so we haven't figured that out yet. i call them grandma and grandpa when i refer to them.

My mom's name is Beverly. My nieces and nephews call her Gramma Bevy. It's pretty cute. She said Grandma Bailey makes her sound like her mother-in-law and she doesn't want that :)

Grammy and Papa
Grandpa Lou and Grandma Janet.

How do you feel about inheriting the names that previous grandkids have already given the grandparents?

I feel okay about it since they are cute choices (that Grammy and Papa are happy with)!

V's other grandparents are Grandpa and Grandmas

My great grandma was Comie because the first grandchild called her that and it always bugged my Mom (beyond the cold war implications her name had!) She wished the other grandkids could have called her something more normal.

Nana and Poppa and Grammie and Grampie. I was kind of the one that pushed for special names. I just think it's more fun than Grandma/Grandpa with a last name attached. And how cute is it when a little toddler says Papa or Poppy, etc?!!!!
