Not sure where this recipe came from, but they are chewy, delicious, and best of all - EASY! I make them often!
Here goes:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup softened margarine or butter
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon (gotta love the cinnamon!)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 & 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 cup flour
1 cup raisins, choc chips, or nuts if desired (I go for the chocolate all the way!)
Heat oven to 375. Mix all ingredients except oats, flour, and choc chips. Stir in oats, flour, and chips or raisins. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light golden brown, about 10 minutes. Immediately remove from sheet.
Yields about 2 dozen cookies; 110 cal per cookie.
Hmmm, I am craving cookies!
