Shhhh!

What tricks have you found for keeping kids quiet in church? We have quiet books, books, quiet toys and snacks for our little one but she likes to "sing" along...when no one's singing and laugh at things...loudly! She listens to us when we tell her to quiet down but only for a moment. Any good ideas for teaching kids to be reverent?

Singing and laughing are better than screaming and crying! I think that's pretty cute...but I know what you're saying.

We have sacrament meeting 3rd hour and little V refuses to sleep so it's pretty tough. We get through the first two hours reasonably well with the help of veggie puffs and such but after we take the sacrament, one of us usually has to take her out. I try to keep her in the chapel as much as possible to teach her that's what you do, but I think it must just be a gradual process. I didn't realize how hard three hours of church was for kids until I had one myself!

Sorry that I have no advice but that sounds like a super cute girl you've got with you!

I think that you are pretty much doing everything right. One thing that someone once told me is to make the hall way a not very fun place. Like, not letting your child play but have them sit on your lap. (Which I hardly ever end up doing) However, it is not like you have to take her out because she is being naughty. There is nothing better then a happy baby :)

CUTE! Sorry if that's not very sympathetic, but she sounds adorable! My little one has been experimenting with her voice in Sacrament a lot lately too, and people will come up to us later and tell us how cute she is, and how they'd rather listen to her than the speaker any day! lol. So anyway, you're probably worrying about it way more than anyone else is!

I totally agree! It's more my husband than me too. I lead the music in sac mtg. so I sit on the stand watching her squawk at me and chuckle while my husband gets red in the face worried that she's bugging everyone! :)
