Costumes

So far M's costume has cost seven dollars-I decided it would probably cost that much to make a wand and wings so I bought some and am making the other pieces to transform my toddler into a fairy. What are your kids going to be for Halloween?????

I'm not very crafty. We just bought some pink skeleton glow-in-the-dark pajamas from Gymboree. This is a good time to get a costume from stores like Children's Place, Gymboree, etc. because they are all on sale.

Gymboree had adult size too so my husbands will match...but his of are not pink, they're black.

My son will be a monkey, and my daughter picked out a purple fairy outfit.

My husband and I won't be dressing up because the costumes are either really expensive or not modest, so we will just be wearing halloween t-shirts.

My son is going to be Crush from Finding Nemo! I bought him a turtle costume and then I attached a clown fish on his shell, he looks so darn cute in it!

I play with a community concert band and we have to dress up for our Halloween concert so I'm going to be Princess Leia. I used it last year and it's the best costume I've ever had (thanks to my mother-in-law!).

My oldest wants to be the same thing he was last year, so horray for me. It is a pirate. My 2nd is going to be either Mr. Incredible or a chicken and my youngest is going to be a frog. All costumes that we already had.

Skyler's going to be a ladybug. I got it for $6 on Ebay-and it's from Children's Place, new with tags! I think I actually got that tip from someone on here, so thanks!

I thought it would be cute if my husband and I followed the insect theme and went as a bumblebee and flower. I am having a heck of a time finding accessories like bee's wings, or antennaes though. So I guess I'm going to have to make everything, which will probably be cheaper anyway I suppose. Unless anyone has ideas where I can find things???

My daughter is going to be Hermione. My mom is so crafty and made her the costume! I got a witches robe free from a lady at church, so I thought I would go as Tonks. I haven't convinced my husband to be Lupin yet.

Okay, I think we need to post pics after Halloween! I want to see Hermione, the ladybug, the monkey, Crush, everyone!!! These are cute ideas!

Luke is going to be Luke Skywalker. My husband and I were planning on being star wars characters too. I was going to be Padme (from the 3rd episode when she's pregnant since I am pregnant) but I can't find those costumes anywhere and I wouldn't know where to begin to make one. My husband was going to be either Darth Vader or Anakin. I have no idea what I'm going to do now since I can't find the costume I wanted.

My 18 mo. old will be a cheerleader, and the 3 1/2 yr old will either be a cheerleader or a clown (depending on if she can keep the clown makeup on for longer than 10 minutes). She loves to have me paint her face, but she wants to wash it off really soon thereafter!

Margaret's going to be a lamb... if I can finish her costume! Unfortunately making it is turning out to cost the same as buying!

Stephanie--we have twin families almost! Megan is going to be a ladybug (we got her costume at Value Village for cheap) and my husband is going to be a bee (he doesn't like dressing up...so he's going to wear a yellow and black striped polo shirt and maybe a home-made stinger if I can convince him) and I'm going to be a butterfly (wear all black with wings and a homemade headband with antennae). It should be pretty fun.

If I were to be truly honest though...our family will actually be bugs dressed up like burritos and go to Chipotle for a free burrito! I love free burritos on Halloween! :)

We are going to dress our 12-month-old as a shark. And my husband and I are going to wear board shorts and t-shirts (we live in Florida, and it's still really hot this time of year) and bring our snorkel gear. Then we are going to put some fake blood (just a little, nothing too gross) on our limbs like we were shark-attacked. Our son likes to bite me all the time anyway so it's actually pretty true to life. ;)
