Messy Faces

My daughter loves to feed herself, and as you can see, she gets a little bit dirty in the process. Currently I wash her face off with a wet washcloth after each meal, but I was wondering if there was any better way to wash off her face (i.e. less laundry, more sanitary...whatever). So, I figured I'd ask what all of you do. Maybe a washcloth is the best solution and I'm fine with that...I was just curious what else people use. Thanks guys! :)

I'm not sure it is any more sanitary, but I usually find it easier just to take my daughter to the faucet and wash her face and hands just with the water. I feel like I can get her cleaner that way and I don't have to deal with anything else (like paper towels or washcloths).

What a cute picture!

I take her to the sink after meal time and wash her hands with soap and water (I've wondered about a milder soap or something but I've found her hands are still stinky and gross if I don't use soap). And then I just cup water in my hand and put it all over her face and wipe it dry with a cloth. She hated it at first but now it's just part of the day.

Go straight to the tub.

I haven't tried going directly to the faucet. I may have to. Hands are especially hard to get clean feeling with a cloth. I usually use a baby wipe. They are cheap and disposable.

Baby wipes. I always have them wish me to wipe up my kids, I wish I only had to clean their faces at eating time. They are good for cleaning up dirt smears, food, and snot.

I use wet paper towels after meals and wash at the sink if it's a big mess. I hate the waste of them though and have tried to keep extra wash cloths but they get so gross so fast that I haven't found a good solution either.

Wet wipes or paper towel. I don't always have paper towel, but I always have wet wipes.

I feel weird putting wipes on my babe's face. Seems like it would taste bad!

I've always just used a wash cloth. I like to keep them contained, where they can't spread sauce on me or the furniture, as much as I can. (Except for the REALLY bad spaghetti episodes, which I think have only happened to each kid once or twice, where I take them straight to the tub.) Basically, I'm just lazy. :)

Thanks guys! It's nice to hear lots of different opinions. I've never even thought of bringing her to the faucet b/c she's always so messy...but that's a great idea. :)

I use a washcloth and rinse it (and let it dry) after every use. I don't want Luke to get a mess all over the place so I leave him in his high chair until I've cleaned him off. Sometimes I use paper towels. I wouldn't want anyone wiping my mouth with a baby wipe (it would taste bad) so I don't usually use one to clean him up unless we're away from home, like at a park or something.

Either way he hates when I wipe his face. Maybe I'll try taking him to the faucet and see if that makes it a little more bearable.

I have to say, Tiffany, your Megan's teeth are so cute! Mine got her "fangs" first too and I loved it-we called her our little vampire!
