The last books that I read were the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer and they were so good! I'm so glad they were recommended on here a while back, that's what finally made me decide to read them.
I'm currently reading The Bartimaeus Trilogy. That wasn't the question though. the last book I read was The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Satterfield. It was fascinating but dark.
Right now I'm reading Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight series. Before that, I read A Thousand Splendid Suns, it was for Book Club. Not usually the type of book I'd choose, but wow-what an eye opener.
Yeah...I guess I'm also guilty of the Twilight Series love. They were my last read...over and over and over again (well...just my favorite parts). I love love love those books. I have a crush on Edward. Also, I highly recommend Stephenie Meyer's website www.stepheniemeyer.com if you haven't been there before. She has outtakes and extras for the first two books and the first chapter of a new book: Midnight Sun, which is Twilight written from Edward's perspective. Lots of fun.
Anyway, I also recently read Mara: Daughter of the Nile (YAF) and it was really good. And currently I'm reading the first book in the Kingdom and the Crown series. VERY interesting and thought-provoking. In case you haven't noticed....I love to read. I get in trouble with that sometimes b/c the day passes by and I realize I haven't done much but take care of Megan and read...whoops!
So I think the Twilight books are sweeping the nation--that was the last trio of books I read, too. In fact, everyone in our South Florida LDS student wives bubble is obsessed with them. The book club for them is tonight (sadly I don't think I'll be able to go because my son is sick). Not only that, but my husband's mother, aunt, and grandma are all reading them. So even though these are youth novels, there really is no age limit!
But if I'm being perfectly honest, I have to join liz&meg's boat and say the ACTUAL last book I read was Baby's First Book of ABCs with my little guy this morning. :)
The last one I read was The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl for book club. It was slow to get started, and after a disturbing murder scene, I had a hard time getting back with it (so I read Austenland by Shannon Hale--LOVED it and highly recommend it if you want a quick, light read). However, my friend encouraged me not to give up on it, and in the end I am glad I finished it. It makes me want to read Dante's Inferno (which for some reason I never had to read for any HS or college class), just to see for myself why the men in the book were so inspired by it.
A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck (YAF). My goal is to read all of the Newberry award winner books, this book won in 2001.
I have heard from almost everyone I know that they've read the Twilight books. I have heard they are really good but frankly I've become so annoyed hearing about them and that EVERYONE has read them. I'm being stubborn, I'm waiting read them. Actually, I have absolutely no desire to read them at all. Sorry, to all of you who love the books.
Liz&Meg, I did like A Thousand Splendid Suns. It was difficult to read at times, but overall very good. And I agree, I learned so much! I haven't read Kite Runner, but from what I've heard, this one's milder than that one was.

I have heard SO much about the Twilight series (all in this week). I'll definitely have to check those out!

Twilight series, twice.
I just finished Fire Arrow by Edith Patou. Pretty good, but I liked her book East better.
FYI - Also love the Twilight series - not as much Eclipse, but still good.
