Children's Books

I thought we had a lot of books to read to our babe but now that we have read each of them 100 times (I'm exaggerating...a little), we're looking to add a few to the collection. Any favorites?

All the Ways I Love You, What Makes a Rainbow, anything Sandray Boynton, anything that's touch and feel or lift the flap is popular with our little one right now. When we're in Utah next week, I'm going to get her some kids Book of Mormons and stuff like that! A friend of mine just gave me a tip that a great place to look is Marshalls-cheaper than Target! (but probably not in Texas?) :)

I have to second the Sandra Boynton (she wrote the Snuggle Puppy book we got you), Bauer's favorite is Barnyard Dance. Tails is a good one, but maybe when she's a little older since it's not a board book.
Of course there are the Brown Bear, Polar Bear, and Panda Bear books by Bill Martin Jr. There's also a lullaby book by Sylvia Long called Hush Little Baby. She took the original song and changed the lyrics so the mama is showing her baby things in the world around them to cheer him up instead of buying things. We really like it!
My sister recommends The Mitten, Bear Snores On, and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, they have both available in board books.
Sorry, we really like books!

Our favorite Sandra Boynton is Pajama Time, with Moo, Baa, La La La a close second (it's so fun as they start to talk, because the animal sounds come easier for them than words--at least they did with mine). A good one from age 2+ is Daddy Mountain by Jules Feiffer (it is SOOOO cute!!!). Good touch & feel books: Good Morning, Good Night and Are You Ticklish?, both illustrated by Melanie Mitchell.

Yeah, Boynton books rock. My kids faves are the "If You Give a Pig a Pancake," "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie," and "If you give a Moose a Muffin." I've got them memorized. Also, "Napping House," is a favorite.

Sorry, that made it sound like the books I mentioned were Boynton books. They aren't. But our Absolute Favorite Boynton Book that my kids find irresistable (especially when they're really young) is "Blue Hat Green Hat." Other good ones of hers, "Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs," and "Barnyard Dance."
