Peekaboobaby

Have you ladies ever seen this product? I think it's so nifty! I was never able to breastfeed my baby (he never quite caught on) but I think this would have come in so handy! What do you think? Would it be a valuable purchase for the next little one?

I couldn't see how much it cost on the website but I will probably get one if I have the chance to nurse another baby. It took me a really long time to feel comfortable nursing in a public place but this product looks way more convenient to use than a blanket. My baby hates having something over her face when she nurses and this look like you could actually see the baby's face. Cute fabrics too. I like it!

I've also seen them called hooter hiders. They're $35 each on this website - bebeaulait.com. I never got one because I couldn't nurse either (I had a case of mastitis that just wouldn't quit), but I think they're a great idea! Maybe on the next one.

I actually got one of those from www.modestmommycover.com. I was way excited, but then a little disappointed when I got it because the fabric was thicker than a light cotton blanket and made it really dark, so my baby didn't like it. It was also too hot to use down here in Florida. But I would imagine if I had bought a thinner one it would have been a better set-up. I definitely liked that it had no chance of falling down like blankets could.

I did not really successfully nurse until my 3rd baby. And I was never very good at being modest. I would love one of those cover things. Hopefully baby number 4 will be able to nurse and if so I will probably get one.

My baby hated being covered up so I just had to be careful in public and we did a lot of nursing in bathrooms and more private places like that. I have wondered if I started covering her up earlier if she would have been more tolerant. Something to try with the next baby! Laura had a cool homemade blanket that had a weight that was slung over her shoulder so that it wouldn't slip off!

This is the new craze in my ward. One of my friends makes them and sells them online. I couldn't tell how much the 'peekaboobaby' ones were selling for, but my friend sells them for 20 bucks plus free shipping. Her website is http://www.milkchic.com/index.html if you're interested. I would love one for my next baby!

Thanks katiecaroline!!! I was interested in this product, but I didn't want to pay $35 plus shipping. I checked out your friend's website and ordered one right away. If I like it, I may start giving them as shower gifts!

This is Julie Sivley, maker of Peekaboobaby's! Thanks for the referral to my lame website! I was in the process of moving at the time I set up my website and have been so busy since the move that I have not had time to update it. I have lots of new fabrics and pictures, lots more to post on the site- that will be happening this next week, I hope!! I am a SAHM of 4, currently in school to become a nurse. This is my way of contributing to my family's income.
Anyways, I usually sell my nursing covers for $25 each with $5.00 shipping, however, I see that there's another company on here that sells them for $20 w/ free shipping, so I'll match that price for anyone who mentions the "sugar&spice" blog. The Peekaboobaby's have an extra large pocket for a binkie, nursing pad, or even a cell phone! The strap is a coordinating fabric, as well as the trim on the pocket. They are 36" wide by 26" long. Hope that helps! Thanks again for the interest and I'll post my new fabrics and pics soon! PROMISE!

Hi Julie! Thanks for all of the great information. I'm so curious though, how did you find out about our website?

I have seen the Peekaboobaby and have ordered several of them. They are fantastic - great colors in coordinating fabrics and the terry cloth pocket doubles as a burp cloth, plus a pocket to hold a pacifier or nursing pad. The young mothers I gave them too loved them and use them all the time. One young mother had a baby in the hospital for several months and she used it to cover herself as she used the double breast pump. The hospital nurses thought they were so great that we have bought some to donate to the hospital. You won't be sorry if you order a peekaboobaby! I only wish they would have had these when I was having babies.

Stacibee, Funny you ask! My sister who is a contributor on the Tales From the Crib blog is the one who called me and said, "GET YOUR SITE UPDATED!!!" (Thanks Zinone!) AND... another friend from the bay area emailed me and told me I need to get one here and post! Thanks to everyone who is looking out for me! I love making the Peekaboobaby's and coming up with the cutest fabric combinations and just seeing women enjoy them! They're so fun!!
