My Baby, Size XXL

So when we went in for my son's three-month visit a week or so ago, we found him to be (brace yourselves) 26 1/4 inches and whopping 18 pounds even. The doctor showed me the charts and he's clear up in outerspace in both height and weight. "Don't worry," she said, "it's just more places to kiss!" And worried I'm not, but it did make me curious to know just how much bigger he is than other babies his age.

So, for those of you to whom this applies, my question is this: How big is/are (or was/were) your baby(ies) at three months of age? I would love to know!

I can't tell you how big my babies were at 3 months because their appointments were at 4 months. So, at 4 months my two oldest were a little over 17 pounds. But, my youngest was a whopping 20 pounds at 4 months. I can't remember their lengths.

My baby girl who is 3 1/2 months went to the doctor today (she has RSV--yikes) and weighed 13 lbs. 5 oz. I think she's about 24 inches long.

mine at 4 months was almost 15 lbs. and 25 1/2 inches long. I know you already know this, but you have nothing to fret!! Your son is ADORABLE!

Well, my daughter who is almost four, I don't remember what she weighed at four months but I do know she right in the 50 percentile. My son, on the other hand, can't seem to hold on to anything. He's high for height and head circumfrence, but he's only in the 3 percentile for weight. He is 19 months old and fighting to make it to 21 lbs. So I guess he represents the other end of the spectrum.

Yeah, we didn't go to the Dr at 3 mos either. But at 2 mos she was 12 lb even, and at 4 mos she was 14 lb 11 oz. So She was probably somewhere around 13 1/2 lb at 3 mos! She has always been around the 75th percentile for weight and 90th for height! As long as is height is off the charts too, you have nothing to worry about. He's just a big boy!

Bethany...is Claire ok???

Yeah, Claire is ok. She has a really hard time breathing though which is making it hard for her to eat and she's coughing like a chain smoker. It's breaking my heart to see her so sick. You probably see quite a bit of RSV as a nurse. I've been sleeping in her room every night because I'm afraid she'll stop breathing--I need to get one of those monitors you have!

My daughter had an appointment at 2 mos and was 8 lbs. 11 oz. (which was almost double her birth weight - three weeks early) and at 4 mos. she was 12 lbs. 3 oz. Now she is just 18 mos. and weighs 19 lbs. 5 oz. She's not on the charts for weight so she's just probably going to be a little girl. The doctor says she healthy and that's the most important thing for any baby big or small!
